Rising majestically against the rugged coastal mountains, Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club in Pitt Meadows—just minutes from Surrey and Langley—offers one of the most cinematic and regal settings in all of British Columbia. Designed by golf icon Lee Trevino, the 65,000 square-foot chateau features dramatic copper turrets, winding tree-lined driveways, and expansive ballroom windows.
1. Key Portrait Locations at Swaneset
The Grand Double Staircase: Flanked by ornate brass railings and floor-to-ceiling glass, the foyer staircase provides an unrivaled platform for couture bridal gown reveals and royal South Asian couple portraits.
The Tree-Lined Entrance Driveway: Lined with towering poplars and views of the Golden Ears mountain range, the long private drive creates breathtaking wide-angle editorial portraits, especially when driving a vintage Rolls Royce or luxury bridal entrance car.
The Grand Ballroom & Balcony: Overlooking the manicured greens and coastal ponds, the third-floor balcony catches magnificent sunset breezes, creating movement in bridal veils and lehengas.
2. Technical Lighting in the Grand Ballroom
Swaneset’s ballrooms feature magnificent 60-foot vaulted wood ceilings. While spectacular to the human eye, very high ceilings can cause on-camera flashes to lose power. Our studio deploys multi-strobe off-camera flash units positioned around the perimeter of the ballroom, providing dimensional rim-lighting on the couple during the first dance, cake cutting, and high-energy dance floor celebrations.
